Day One....

Prior to leaving on our excellent adventure Mom sent us a box.  It was shoe box size wrapped in brown paper and it rattled!  Mom said not to worry about the rattle, that it was not broke but that  I couldn't open it until my sister arrived.  As soon as she walked in the door we opened that box!  And what was inside were two scarves - purple for me and burgundy for my sister!  Mom knitted them from Tendsetter Cha Cha yarn and they are so cute as evidenced in this photo:

Oh what a day!!  We got on the road at 8:30 am this morning.  Overcast and gloomy.  This does not bode well....

If she only knew what she was getting herself into my sister Gayla wouldn't look so happy as she prepares for her "job" as co-pilot. LOL

As we got into New Jersey the rain was coming down pretty steady. Traffic was backed up for miles.  We worked our way across the GW Bridge and out of NYC ....in rain.  It was a pretty icky day for driving. We arrived at our first stop in Springfield, MA at about 1:00 pm, checked in and got the car unpacked.  Stopped at Subway for fortification before hitting WEBS.

And OH MY!!!  It was total sensory overload!!! I was in heaven!!! All these pretty colors and textures.  And they have a HUGE warehouse of yarn in addition to a beautiful, well stocked and neat showroom. Aisle after aisle of beautiful yarns. And the staff was so nice!

I walked away with a modest investment lol.

(top to bottom - Valley Superwash DK, Malabrigo Rios Paris Night, Kitratto S. Charles purple sparkly, Razetti Polaris, Malabrigo Rios Natual and last but not least....yes that's my favorite, Blue Heron in Old Gold)

After leaving WEBS we headed off in search of adventure.  We found Mt. Tom National Park.  It was a short drive to the top of Mt. Tom.  Caught a couple of pics but there really isn't any color here yet.

Next Stop - White River Junction, VT.....

  2. WoW - barely out of the starting gate and into a yarn shop ☺

And what a great haul already ☺

Tis late here when I was reading your blog and I got to the bottom and though 'why that jammy wotnot has found a guy already too' - you had put "It was a short drive to the top of Mt. Tom"

I read it as "It was a short drive to the top to mount Tom"
