We made it to Ontario province....
And eventually to Kingston.
We checked in to our hotel, unloaded the car (again) and since we had a little time we visited Wool Tyme. The shop was really cute! Plenty of natural light, a good selection of local and standard yarns and the staff was delightful!! Managed to pick out a few yarns (mostly local yarns)
Next on our list of things to do was the Thousand Island Tours. We drove down to the dock and got our tickets.
Took a few pictures from the dock....
We only had to wait about 20 minutes for our boat.
I don't remember all the island names but we saw Fort Henry
and lots of other islands
One of the other passengers took this picture of me and Gayla
It was a very fun day....
We are finding that the further west we travel the more "Americanized" Canada is becoming. Quebec was primarily French, Montreal was much more diverse and Kingston feels like I'm back in the USA.
Tomorrow we head for Niagara Falls - Canada side - and the Maid of the Mist. Only 3 days left of Michelle and Gayla's Excellent Adventure :(
.
(Mom and Dad - We know you are reading this but, for some reason aren't able to comment. Just want you to know we are fine, having a great time, can't call from Canada but will call as soon as we get back in the US. Love you!)
Kingston is beautiful - the water is amazing. Couldn't tell it was fall with everyone sunbathing and enjoying the beautiful day! I'm very excited to get to Niagara Falls!
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures Michelle. is that a leetle lighthouse on that island? That's where I want to live ☺
ReplyDeleteI love the shadow picture of the 2 of you - very clever! And some yarn! HuZZah!
See Gayla scored - with the bear! Lol!
Reads bottom of post and realises that Mummy & Daddy Pensylvania are reading this - offers queasy English winsome smile . . . and scarpers . . . . ☺
Michelle,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day! I agree with Willa - the shadow picture is wonderful - Charles likes it, too.
Since I missed reading Monday night, by now you will have already been on the Maid of the Mist ... one of my favorites! I spent a lot of vacations growing up going to Niagara Falls - love, love, love the Canadian side ... the last time I was there I was able to take Charles for his first trip to the Falls and to Canada!
Hugs,
Deirdre
